Robert Ray Korb, 67, a former Elmore County resident, died Oct. 20, 2003, at the home of his sister in Torrington, Wyo.

Services were held Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Lingle Presbyterian Church with Rev. Don Chanslor officiating. Burial followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle, Wyo. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home.

Bob was born May 29, 1936, in Torrington, Wyo., the oldest of seven children, to Neal and Greta (Roath) Korb. He grew up and attended school in Wheatland, Wyo., through his sophomore year when the family moved back to Torrington. He worked for various farmers during the summer and fall of his junior and senior years. Bob then joined the Air National Guard in February of 1954 and served for six years in Cheyenne, Wyo., and Boise, Idaho.

He graduated form Torrington High School in 1956 and that fall he worked at Holly Sugar as the paper bag delivery man. On Jan. 1, 1957, he moved to Idaho and stayed there for 37 years during which he was involved in several large agriculture projects. He worked as a farm hand for several years and served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Elmore County Soil and Conservation for 16 years and for seven years as a director of a large grazing association.

In 1979 he moved to Mountain Home and rented the Hoffer farm where he established an 80-cow herd of top grade Herefords.

In the fall of 1994 he moved back to the Torrington area where he farmed the Glen Butler farm. In 1998 he retired from farming and bought a small acreage near Lingle. He was a member of the Lingle Presbyterian Church where he served as trustee. He enjoyed gardening and was a master gardener.

He is survived by: two brothers, Donald and wife, Janet Korb of Boothwyn, Pa., and Norman and wife Nancy Korb of Vancouver, Wash.; four sisters, Bonnie and husband Glen Butler of Torrington, Karen Sturtevant of Clackamas, Ore., Darlene and husband Bill Daniel of Troutdale, Ore., and Carolyn and husband Tom Butler of Sparks, Nev.; special friend Jackie Weber of Torrington and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law.
