Betty Meserole, 73

Elizabeth "Betty" Lenore Jones Meserole, 73, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, after a battle with lung cancer. She died at home in Boise with her husband, four daughters and grandson Gabriel Hall at her bedside.

A private family service was held by close faimily members at Aclesa Memorial in Boise on March 4, 2003.

Betty was born June 24, 1929, in Gooding, Idaho, to Chatty and Joseph Jones. She attended high school in Gooding and worked in the nursing field.

She married Charles Edgar Meserole July 31, 1948. The couple had four daughters, 10 grandchildren and four great-grand daughters.

The family lived their early years in Gooding. In 1959 the family moved to Glenns Ferry where Betty and Chuck developed a family grocery business.

After raising their four daughters there, Betty and Chuck moved to Lake Tahoe, Nev., where they lived for five years. They then returned to Twin Falls where she lived and enjoyed her later years.

In 2001 Betty and Chuck moved to Boise to be near many of their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

While in Twin Falls, Betty attended the College of Southern Idaho and achieved licensing as a CNA.

"Mom was forever admired for her beauty and youthful, lively personality. She had always enjoyed her work in the nursing field," said a member of her family. "She loved the fresh air and birds. She tended her lovely flower garden with great joy and was most comfortable in a lawn chair on the green grass in the warm sunlight. Throughout the many endearing years, Nanny and Pap's home was the precious gathering court for children, grandchildren and great grandchildren."

She is survived by: her husband, Charles E. Meserole; daughters Reme L. Meserole of Palm Springs, Calif., Tere L. Meserole of Boise, Lore L. Meserole Schureman (Douglas) of Arco, Toni A. Meserole Heath (Eldon) of King Hill, and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her eldest brother, Donald Jones of Gooding, her youngest sister, Norma June Jones Watters of Merced, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.
