Virginia Eckert, 87

Virginia Walker Eckert, 87, died Saturday, April 12, 2003, at Elmore Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at Mountain View cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday May 3.

Virginia was born Nov. 20, 1915, to Gilbert C. Walker, Sr., and Lena M. Walker, a pioneer Elmore County family, at The Walker Ranch on Cold Springs Creek.

Virginia graduated from Glenns Ferry High School and the Boise Beauty Academy. She was a beautician for several years.

Virginia married Garth Eckert on Sept. 5, 1957. They lived on their ranches at Hill City, Boise River and Barber. She was active as a member of The Idaho Cowbelles, The Boise River Cattlemen's Association and The Idaho Cattlemen's Association. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by: a brother, two step-daughters and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
