Elmore County Sheriff Deputies Engage in High Speed Pursuit

At approximately 12:55pm on May 18, police detained an individual following a high speed chase that spanned a portion of I84 westbound and ended on Idaho Highway 167. Elmore County Deputies and ISP were both engaged in the pursuit. An individual in a 2007 white Ford Focus Hatchback attempted to escape officers in a lengthy chase in which the suspect reached speeds up to 130mph. The suspect ultimately stopped on his own volition and was detained by officers. The suspect was from Hailey and according to radio logs, was driving with a suspended driver's license.
