Local Food Drive breaks record in providing meals for families

On the evening of Tuesday the 22nd at the Our Lady of Good Counsel church building, cars could be seen lining the surrounding blocks. Carts rolled in and out of the church building. Some volunteers could be found rushing food out of the building, others talking to those in line, and more yet loading the trunks of cars with food. St. Vincent de Paul food pantry co-chair, Kristy Wegrzyniak, stated, “I always have mixed feelings when we break a record like we did tonight”. The record she spoke of? Over 240 families served on the 22nd, up from 186 families in August of this same year.
