CASINO UPDATES!

As originally written about in-depth by publisher Brenda Fincher, two Native American tribes, the Shoshone-Bannock and Shoshone-Pauite tribes, are both pursuing building casinos in Mountain Home. Additionally shared in earlier reports, the Shoshone Bannock tribe—no strangers to casinos­—purchased land in Mountain Home in January of 2020, though they had selected the land as early as 2018. At the time of purchasing, the use of the land was not disclosed.

To combat misinformation, rumors, and speculation, the Mountain Home News reached out to both tribes to gather information straight from the source regarding the potential casinos.
