A viewing will be held at 9AM, a funeral service will be celebrated at 10AM, on Tuesday, April 20, at the First Baptist Church of Glenns Ferry, followed by burial at Glenn Rest Cemetery. Arrangements were under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Juanita was born in King Hill, ID on the 4th of July 1932 to Dolph and Audrey Hitesman and will always be remembered as our little firecracker, even though she had a sweet disposition and very seldom blew up, she did have a witty sense of humor, engaging smile and sparkled most of the time.

She graduated from King Hill High School in 1950, the last graduating class of 2 seniors before the school closed. That September, she married the love of her life, Raymond Betty. Her children considered her the best mom, and her grandchildren considered her the cutest grandma. “Nita” liked her jobs as waitress, but she liked cooking more and teaching it to Job Corp students while living in Cottonwood, ID; she also volunteered as church treasurer for many years and taught Sunday school. Nita always found the good in everyone and enjoyed studying her bible, crocheting, arrowhead hunting, watching BSU football, going on outings with friends, Gunsmoke and John Wayne.

Juanita is survived by son Dennis (Jocelyn) Betty, daughters Melody (Victor) Henscheid and Holly Betty, daughter in-laws Julie Betty and Carolyn Shippy, 15 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Sue (Harold) Southwick, stepbrother Bill (Sharon) Allred and stepsister Kathy (Tom) Allred-Huber and a host of other family and friends who will cherish her loving memory. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Raymond Betty, sons Matt Betty and Bud Avery Betty, granddaughter Jennifer Porter and brothers Joe Hitesman and Dolph Hitesman.
