Construction set to begin on Phase Two of Downtown Plan

Thursday, June 18, 2020

The City of Mountain Home held a Zoom meeting on June 3, 2020, to inform the public about plans for construction during Phase II of the Downtown Project. Construction on Jackson and Second Streets will look much like it did during Phase I of construction, beginning on working through problems with the infrastructure, replacing the old drainage system in hopes of improving storm drainage.

All trees and sidewalks will then be removed to be replaced by wider sidewalks and to make room for new landscaping. During the meeting a representative of Guho Corporation explained how construction would work to help minimize the interruption of business in the construction area. Temporary gravel sidewalks will be placed in front of the storefronts during the process. While sidewalks are being placed, a business manager for Guho will be working closely with the downtown businesses in an attempt to minimize disruptions to business as much as possible.
