UNOFFICIAL Results of the May 2020 Primaries

The ballots have been counted and the unofficial results of the May 20th Primary are here. In Legislative District 23 Christy Zito beat out Brenda Richards with 56.49% of the vote to win the candidacy. She will face Democrat Laura Bellegante in November for the Senate Seat. In the race for Representative Seat A Matthew Bundy won 55.9% of the vote over Andrea Owens and will face Democrat Benjamin Lee in November. In Seat B Megan Blanksma ran unopposed and will face Democrat Micheal Oliver and Constitutionalist Tony Ullrich in November.

During the November elections incumbent Senator Jim Risch will be up against Democrat Paulette Jordan who won her primary with 85.7% of the vote against Jim Vandermass. Incumbent United States Representative Mike Simpson beat out Kevin Rhoades with 71.99% of the vote and will face Democrat C. Aaron Swisher who ran unopposed for his party's candidacy.

In Elmore County the four way race for the Republican Sheriff's candidacy was close with current Sheriff Mike Hollinshead winning with 1781 votes, Russ Griggs received 1098 votes, Mike Barclay received 623 votes and Bob Peace received 414 votes. Current County Commissioner Franklin "Bud" Corbus ran unopposed for the District 1 position, while District 2 had a four way race and will see a change of Commissioner. Incumbent Commissioner Wes Wootan received the second largest amount of votes with 1295 losing out to Crystal Rodgers who received 1431. Nathan Jones received 760 votes and Christie Bautrel received 245.

The Mountain Home School District had 2471 people vote in favor of its supplemental levy while 1927 people voted against the levy.
