Effective at close of business on March 17, 2020

The Elmore County Driver License Office will be closed until further notice.

A notice will be posted on the Elmore County Website and the Elmore County Sheriff Facebook page with information as to when we will reopen to the public for business.

NOTICE:

The Idaho Transportation Departments Division of Motor Vehicle is instituting a 90-day extension on some credentials.

The 90-day extensions apply to drivers licenses. If your credentials expire between March 1st and May 31st of 2020, you will have until June 30th 2020 to renew. Many of these can be renewed online.

Commercial driver’s licenses will not qualify for this extension. Please call for appointment.

**Please note, the Oct. 1, 2020 deadline to use a Star Card (Idaho’s REAL ID) or other federally-approved identification is outside the control of the State of Idaho. ITD and the Governors Office is in communication with our Congressional Delegation, the Department of Homeland Security, and the White House regarding this matter in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.**

Sex Offenders can register via phone. Signature and prints will be done by appointment only.

The phone number to call for appointment is: 208-587-1888 ext. 3. We will have employees on duty to answer the phones.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we are doing our part to protect the public and our employees during this time.

Thank you for understanding and your support.

Sheriff Mike Hollinshead
