County Commissioners hold final meeting of 2019

Wednesday, December 25, 2019

The Elmore County Board of Commissioners met Friday, December 20, for the last meeting of 2019. Wes Wooten was not in attendance. Commissioners Bud Corbus and Al Hofer, along with Human Resources' Heather Reynolds, recognized several employees for their dedicated years of service to the county. They each received a decorative and stackable paperweight with the number of years of service emblazoned on the front.

The Elmore County Area 20 Snowmobile Groomer Advisory Board received a new groomer from Idaho State Parks and Recreation (ISPR). Every 10 years ISPR replaces old machines with new in order to make open spaces available for recreation.

According to the advisory board, managed by Chuck Curtis, it provides the public access to over 180 miles of trail system, allowing access to thousands of acres of terrain. While snowmobile trail grooming is weather dependent, the groomer, Allen Keister, runs every night possible to achieve their mission.
