Boise Homicide victim had ties to Mountain Home

News travels quickly in a small community like ours especially when homicide is involved and even more so when it involves one of their own for a generation of young adults still living in Mountain Home that went to school here together. Many times friends move outside of the community, but ties are thick and relationships are continued outside our boundaries. Many had heard of the homicide being reported by the Boise Media on Thursday and Friday of last week, but up until the victims name was released, many had no idea how close to home it was going to hit. I have spoken with some who grew up here in Mountain Home and the shock wave was still evident Friday evening. Here is what we have gathered so far.

On Friday, Oct. 18, it was reported that the death of a 43-year-old man found in Ann Morrison Park Thursday was being investigated as a homicide, according to the Ada County Coroner’s Office.

The office identified Roque “Rocky” Leon Arellano, of Boise and who we know to be formerly of Mountain Home, as the man found in the park’s southwest corner Thursday morning. For the full story, pick up a copy of the Mountain Home News or click on this link to subscribe to the newspaper's online edition.
