Mountain Home Talkin’ Tigers Debate Teams dominate at first tournament of season

The Mountain Home High School Talkin’ Tigers Speech and Debate team dominated the 13 other schools at the City Of Trees Debate Tournament last Saturday at Timberline High School in Boise. Junior Oam Patel won Lincoln Douglas Debate while the team of Khylan Stubblefield and Zach Warren won Public Forum Debate. In addition Mercedez Mason and Korbin Peterson were finalists in Congressional Debate.

Patel posted a perfect 7-0 record at the tournament and never lost a ballot the entire tournament. The Junior has established himself as one of the best Lincoln Douglas debaters in the country as last year he finished ,22nd in the United States as a sophomore at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas over the summer.
