Rumors and Tumors

Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Dear fellow friends and citizens,

Seems like inevitable politics and life. I write today as a thing we are all guilty of at times -gossip - oh what a crime it goes back to biblical philosophy. One of the simple ten rules that get you the keys to the pearly gates. Thou shall not bare false witness against thy neighbor. And so it goes, you hear a rumor and you repeat it. Now sit and ask yourself . . . were you there? Did you see it? Did you hear it? Then why speak it? Like a detective has to learn, you can’t assume anything, for there are hundreds of variables in every case. I’ve literally seen marriages, lives and communities ripped apart by rumors. So think about this. . . . rumors are like tumors, the person affected by them has no chance of defending themselves against those things until they at last find out, and usually by then its too late - Damage Done!

When I was a boy growing up here in Mtn. Home you had better not say something behind someone's back unless you were prepared to say it to their face and so I say to all the Facebook Ferrys out there hiding behind screen savers, give it a rest because you will face the book of life when you die. Please don’t bare false witness.
