MHHS Homecoming Week

MHFD gives MHHS students a lift through town during the Homecoming parade on Friday afternoon. This photo actually contains two “floats” as a member of the Cross Country team is passing by on his way back to the end of the parade. Each year the Cross Country team runs the route, starting at Coach Doug Root’s pickup at the back of the lineup, they run to the first vehicle in the parade and then turn around making their way back to Coach Root, this is a process they will repeat again and again until the parade route is finished. Quite the workout!

Mountain Home School District celebrated Homecoming Week Oct. 7th through 12th with activities throughout the busy week. Monday night started the festivities with the yearly Macho Man Volleyball game and a win for the Senior boys. Also on Monday night, both the boys and girls soccer teams took home wins in the District tournament, but both teams lost on Wednesday and Saturday nights ending their seasons. Wednesday night was the Powder Puff Football game which had an upset win as the Junior Class girls took down the Senior girls. On Thursday afternoon the Cross Country team hosted the Mountain Home High School Invitational at Legacy Park. It was a tough course in which the Tigers competed well. Friday afternoon the students took to the streets for the Homecoming parade with each class and many different clubs and teams represented with floats. Friday night’s Homecoming game saw a heartbreaking loss as the Varsity Tiger Football team lost to the Twin Falls Bruins: 50-6. The weeks festivities culminated on Saturday night with the Homecoming Dance. For more photos from the week go to the photo gallery at www.mountainhomenews.com
