Norma Jean Jarvey

Norma Jean Jarvey, age 67, of Bruneau, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on October 10, 2019. A celebration of Norma’s life will be held at 7:00PM on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at St. Bridgets Catholic Church, 28672 Hyde Street in Bruneau. Military honors will follow at the Bruneau Cemetery, on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 1:00PM. Cremation was under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Norma was born February 20, 1952, in Hancock, Michigan to Norman and Betty (Long) Jarvey.

Norma served 16 years in the US Air Force both overseas and stateside. She worked as a dental technician in the military. After leaving the Air Force she pursued a degree in speech therapy at the University of Wisconsin.

She loved music, football and NASCAR. She moved to the Bruneau area in 2005, where she mentored and supported the Idaho Drug Free Youth Group.

Norma is survived by her sisters Mary Presley, Kathy and her husband Ted Hokenson, Janet and her husband James Froberg, all of Michigan, her brother Robert and his wife Carmen Jarvey of Colorado, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, her aunt Virginia Sonier, of Michigan, and her very special friends Penny and Gary Jones of Bruneau. She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant brother Charles.

Norma had a heart of gold and would help anyone that needed it. The family requests that donations in Norma’s memory be sent to the Idaho Drug Free Youth Chapter C/O Rimrock Junior Senior High School, 39678 Hwy 78, Bruneau, ID 83604 or St. Bridgets Catholic Church, C/O PO Box 584, Bruneau, ID 83604.
