Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Mountain Home Public Library has two events coming up in October, so mark your calendar. The first one is the "Dangerous Day for Boys", themed after the book titled "Dangerous Book for Boys". The Friends are sponsoring this event with Idaho Fish & Game, and it will be an afternoon of outdoor fun that does NOT involve electronic gizmos. The "Dangerous Day" is open to boys and girls, and there will be an assortment of activities (including the famous rubber chicken catapult and some real fishing lessons). There will also be hot dogs, chips, juice and cookies! This fun Day will be Saturday, October 12th, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Legacy Park in Mountain Home (that's the park with the stream running through it.) Bring the kids for some outdoor fun - no batteries required!

The second Friends event will be our Fall Book Sale, inside the Mountain Home Public Library. The sale will be Friday, October 18th, from 10am to 6pm, and Saturday, October 19th, from 10am to 4pm. All proceeds from this sale will go to support Library programs (like the Dangerous Day, and the American Girl Tea Party last month). Prices are $1 for hardbacks, 50 cents for paperbacks, and 25 cents for children's books. The Friends will also hold the drawing for the handmade Quilt Raffle on Saturday, October 19th, and the quilt will be on display at the Book Sale both days - with a chance to buy more tickets until the drawing. We have lots of new titles donated for this sale, so be ready to carry home a bunch of great books.
