Michael Brletic

Michael Brletic, 64, passed away at home on September 7, 2019, from heart failure. His wife, Nancy, was by his side.

Mike was born in Wilkinsburg, PA, on April 12, 1955 to John and Elizabeth Brletic and spent his childhood in nearby Trafford, PA. Upon graduation from Trafford High School in 1973, he went to work for Westinghouse Corporation.

At Westinghouse, Mike used his exceptional mechanical ability installing large electrical generators throughout the country. Later he worked in Texas as a tool and die designer, and as a certified auto mechanic. Using these skills and discovering an ability to teach, Mike taught auto mechanics at an Arkansas State Prison south of Pine Bluff. Moving to Mountain Home, in 1994, he worked as an auto mechanic until being employed at Marathon Cheese Corporation in 2008.

On December 1, 1990, Mike married Nancy Slater in Ft. Worth, Texas. They had 28 busy and happy years together, entertaining friends, gardening, league bowling, traveling and raising alpacas. Mike was a member of the Elks, Camp Wilson BBQ Committee, and served as a 4-H Leader.

Mike is survived by his wife, Nancy, his mother, Elizabeth, his sister, Barbara Mitcheltree both of PA, and his brother, Andrew Brletic (Linda) of Virginia and his four nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his oldest brother, John.

In his honor, there will be an open reception at the Cottonwood Collective in Mountain Home, (230 N 2nd E St), Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 6-8 pm with a tribute to Mike from 7-7:30. Light refreshments will be served.

Cremation was under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
