SSG. Gregory J. Loomis

SSG. Gregory J. Loomis born on October 20th, 1986 passed on August 26th, 2019. He is survived by his wife Gina Loomis, his son Walker Loomis, and his mother Janet Loomis. He is also survived by his siblings; Nathanial Loomis, Thaddeus Loomis, Adelia Imhof, Luke Loomis, Jennifer Loomis, Hannah Weiss, Rose Loomis and Barbara Loomis.

Gregory grew up with a passion for John Wayne movies and his country. On May 21st, 2008, he pursued his passion and joined the United States Army. In 2008, he was deployed to Iraq, he would go on to see Afghanistan in 2010. During which time, he was wounded in the line of duty. Despite the gunshot wound in his neck, Gregory insisted on going back to duty and remained there until 2011. In 2013, he was sent once again into Afghanistan and returned home in 2014. Gregory continued his service in the Army up until his passing in August.

He loved his family with a fierceness that cannot be put into words.

Services were held at Faith Lutheran Church in Mountain Home, ID on September 6th.
