Ray Freeman

Ray Freeman, 70, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at his home in Fairfield surrounded by his family.

Ray was born on September 14, 1948 in Waycross, Georgia, the son of Raleigh and Verna Freeman. He was raised and educated in Waycross, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida, where he graduated from Paxton High School. He moved with his family to Mountain Home, Idaho in 1970.

He married Joanne Mouser on July 26, 1985 in Elko, Nevada.

Ray owned and operated several area businesses including R & R Pump Co. in Mountain Home, Little Camas Inn, and most recently Wood River Drilling and Pump, which he recently sold to his youngest son – Brandon.

Most weekends Ray could be found near Anderson Ranch Reservoir snowmobiling or camping with friends and family; or tinkering in his shop. His hobbies included building mud boggers for Joanne to race, restoring old Ford trucks, snowmobiling, and exploring the Sawtooth Mountains on his Razor with Joanne.

Ray is survived by: his wife – Joanne Freeman of Fairfield; his four sons – Ray (Laura) Freeman of Clear Lake Shores, Texas, Mark (Konni) Freeman of Fairfield, Brandon (Jennifer) Freeman of Fairfield, and Steve Freeman of Seattle, Washington; one brother – Roy Freeman of Mountain Home, Idaho; eight grandchildren – Cory, Cassy, Carson, Cate, Aiden, Allison, Conner and Maysn; four great grandchildren – Avery, Everett, Jude and Zane.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers – Jack and Weldon.

A private family service will be held on a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Demaray Funeral Service – Gooding Chapel.
