Bob Love signing his book at the Mountain Home Public Library

Bob Love is a native of Mountain Home, who grew up with the stories of Peg Leg Annie. Love had an uncle who knew Annie personally and had been fascinated by her story for years. After spending the past ten years researching her he put her story down in a book. On May 4 his book was celebrated with a book signing at the MHPL. Love said that Elmore County has a special place in history and that Annie “was a true humanitarian” who didn’t let people see how giving she was. People not only got to meet the author, but two of Annie’s great, great granddaughters and a great, great granddaughter-in-law, Angela Higgins Purcell, who wrote the introduction to the book.
