Nearly three thousand years ago, Homer's Odyssey examined the long journey home--and the monsters and obstacles that keep us from finding what we love. In the twenty-first century, Mrs. Elliot is a latter day Odysseus in an assisted living complex, surrounded by bizarre and loopy versions of the Lotus Eaters, Circe, and the Cyclops. She must find her way home again and find her way back to what she loves. The secret lies in a childhood Toy Box, the surreal memories and hopes hidden there—and in the whispered words of her husband Homer that continue to return to her: "Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story…”
