Mayor’s Businesses of Year winners announced during City Council meeting

The Mountain Home City Council met on Feb. 25 to discuss affairs of the city.

To begin the meeting Mayor Rich Sykes announced the winners of the Mayor's Business of the Year Award for a small and large business. Nominations for the awards were taken from the community and many deserving businesses were nominated.This year's winner in the small business category was Bee Dashing, a children's consignment store.

Among the attributes that were listed for the business were the fact that they were warm and inviting, make donations and fundraised for women's shelters and have doubled in size and inventory.

The winner in the large business category was Mountain Home Auto Ranch. They were nominated for being the biggest sponsor of the Daniel Dopps Rodeo and for participating in AFAD each year.

Richard Poole of Front Line EMS was given the chance to speak to the council and explain the business.
