WECRD meets to discuss indoor pool project

Thursday, March 7, 2019

On February 27th The Western Elmore County Recreation District met to discuss updates to the Indoor Pool project.

The board discussed the difference between Sand vs Regenerative filtration systems. They did not have all the numbers and research to make a final decision. This led the board to table the discussion for now.

The board did vote to keep the board members in their current positions. These positions are Dan Gillies, President, Lee Price as Vice President, Doug Myer, Michelle Heins is District Administrator and Judy Erwin as Treasurer.

Lee Price, who was in attendance via telephone, stated that there is a lot of misinformation about this project going around. There is speculation that the WECRD will be using the old pool facility for the location of the new indoor pool or that it will be at Rail Road Park, which is incorrect. Doug Meyer stated that there will be misinformation regarding this project until there is a building put up and this will have to be corrected as the project goes forth.
