Preliminary hearing held for Weaver

ourt on Jan. 16 for a hearing on two cases against him. The first charge was for solicitation to commit murder and the second was for battery on a peace officer and resisting arrest.

Both charges were handled separately to include testimony from state witnesses as there were no defense witnesses called in either case.

Charges for Mr. Weaver on the solicitation to commit murder were based on the testimony of two separate conversations revealed to law enforcement by two inmate witnesses during Mr. Weavers incarceration on prior charges of domestic violence and attempted strangulation in both Elmore and Owhyee Counties. An officer familiar with the case through contact with the victim and had spoken to the other two witnesses also testified.
