Agriculture property evaluations discussed by County Commissioners

Thursday, August 9, 2018

The Elmore County Commissioners met on Aug. 3 to discuss issues concerning the county.

In the morning session, commissioners approved match funds for the Water Conservation District. Elmore County has supported the Water Conservation District with $8,500 in previous years. These funds help the district with making technical, financial and educational resources available and coordinate them to meet the needs of the local land manager with conservation of soil, water and related natural resources.

Next they agreed to hold a hearing on Aug. 24 at 2:30 p.m. pertaining to the diversion of county water from Cat Creek Reservoir to Little Camas Reservoir. The hearing will be held to discuss the project and the commissioners will make a decision on whether they will sign that section of the development agreement. For the full story, pick up a copy of the Mountain Home News or click on this link to subscribe to the newspaper's online edition.
