Local youth competed in a Jr. Rodeo on Thursday night. Pictured above is a teenager competing in the Pole Bending Competition. The goal is to weave through a series of poles without knocking any down with the fastest time. For each pole knocked down five seconds is added to the total time of the run.

The Elmore County Fair and Rodeo closed the books on the 2018 year on Saturday night after a successful week in Glenns Ferry.

According to Fair Manager Julie Lisle both attendance and vendor sells were up this year even with the weather.

"You've got to have the heat, it's kind of a prerequisite for a fair. It kept people in most of the day, but it was a really good turnout in the evenings."

Lisle went on to say she has been hearing lots of positive feedback from the community.

"We couldn't have done it without all of our volunteers and a lot of them want to come back and help out next year," Lisle said.
