A drive along Highway 20 offers up scenic beauty

County Commissioners held a public hearing dealing with the proposed Cat Creek Energy LLC project on May 12.

The proposed energy project involves five conditional use permits for three different forms of renewable energy: solar fields, wind turbines and a hydroelectric facility located off of Highway 20 in the area above Anderson Ranch Reservoir.

County Commissioners approved the five CUP's in February of 2017 before attorneys for both the county and CCE spent the next year ironing out a developmental agreement that was listed as a condition of the permits.

After the development agreement was agreed to earlier this year, representatives of S Bar Ranch, a neighboring property of the wind turbine portion of the project, filed a request for reconsideration that was previously denied by the Commissioners.

The meeting on May 12, was a second request for reconsideration that was also filed by S Bar Ranch.
