Celebrating in style

Community members gathered in Carl Miller Park on May 5 for a Cinco de Mayo celebration complete with a jalepeno eating contest, folkloric dancers, authentic food and so much more, including a stand-up comedian. Performing was Dominic Rodriguez, an Idaho comedian who made a point of saying in his act how pleased he was to see so much diversity in the park that afternoon.
Children were never bored in the park that day as a slew of activities kept their attention, including two bouncy houses.
People of all ages gathered in the park. Some were dancers or participants in the jalepeno eating contest, while others enjoyed the warm weather from the comfort of a camping chair or under a tarp.
