Audrey Mannion, 92, formerly of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 22, 2018 with her daughters by her side. A private family service was held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel and burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery, in Mtn Home.

Audrey Harriet Warshauer was born on September 26, 1925, to Estella and Paul Warshauer in New York City. Mom had a wonderful childhood surrounded by aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents in the city.

Mom met Bartholomew Mannion as a young girl and they married on October 6, 1943. Mom and Dad wanted to get out of the City and see the world, so they joined the military. They had 2 daughters, Judee and Jill. Being a military wife, Mom traveled the world with stops in the US, Libya, Guam, Hawaii and always had her girls tightly in tow.

Mom became a real lover of the beach during the assignment on the Mediterranean Sea. Mom was always ready to go, take us and anyone else to the beach any time. If any woman could be a beach bum, it was Mom. She was the All-American Mom of the day – always involved in everything we did, our biggest cheerleader, many times as a single parent while Dad was often TDY. Mom was asked shortly before she passed what she felt her greatest accomplishment was in her life? She quietly replied, “My kids.” Made us feel so very proud.

When they were assigned to MHAFB, Mom finally decided to take a job outside of the home. After retiring from the Air Force, they settled in Boise and eventually totally retired in Mountain Home. Mom was pretty much through with travelling by then, but loved her annual solo trip to California spending time with Judee and her family in Del Mar. This also satisfied her love of the beach. Mom enjoyed the civilian life and truly ‘smelled the roses’. Mom could finally indulge in her passion for dogs. She and Dad adopted many deeply loved, lucky pound puppies.

Mom was a very active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Mountain Home. Mom and the ‘church ladies’ had a wonderful time doing their work and having fun times together as a group.

In her last few years, Mom moved to Eagle to be closer to Jill, relishing in the fact that her ‘New York Shopper’ could blossom again.

Mom also enjoyed the dining out that we all did. It has been a standing family giggle that she could out-eat her grandsons and great-grandsons!

Mom was a very gentle and humble woman who was comfortable just being in the background watching and enjoying all of her family’s successes. She will be dearly missed by all of us.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her step-father Irving Shapiro, step-siblings and her son-in-law Dennis Wetherell. Mom is survived by Judee and her children Marci & Mark

Rufenaucht, Michael Potter and his son Aiden Potter, Jill and her children Matt & Heidi Wetherell and their children Andrew, Denton and

Cortney and Mark & Mariaha Wetherell and their children Keller, Cyrus and Stella.

The family would like to thank everyone at Paramount Park in Eagle for the years of love, care and fun she had with them. We thank Mary Roehling for being Mom’s “Dr. Mary” and Signature Hospice for the amazing help they were to all of us in Mom’s last week and since her passing. Jerry, Janette, Nickie and Joni, at Rost Funeral Home were amazing to us with the final plans to celebrate Mom’s incredible life. Also a thank you to Father German Osorio.

In lieu of flowers mom would have preferred that you either make a donation to a favorite animal shelter or a local Meals on Wheels.
