Paula A Bluemer, 60, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at University Medical Center Health System in Lubbock, TX after a short illness. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service and inurnment will take place at a later date.

Paula Ann Vaagen was born July 16, 1957 in Richardton, ND, the daughter of Merle and Marlys (Pletan) Vaagen. She was raised in Taylor, ND and attended school there, graduating in 1975 where she was active in cheerleading and sports. Paula graduated from Dickinson State College with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. She taught in Mountain Home, ID for many years.

On May 28, 1986 Paula was united in marriage to Ray Bluemer in Dickinson, ND. Together they raised three children, Ray Jr, Bart and Kaleena.

Paula was intelligent and talented in so many ways. She was artistic, loved crafts, decorating, cooking and gardening as well as landscaping their homes with Ray. She full of fun, personable and witty.Paula was a very loving and caring mother. Paula was a wonderful loving wife and all any man could ask for She will be missed with all the love we can have.

Paula is survived by her husband Ray, Carlsbad, NM, two sons Ray Jr (Daphne) of Bozeman, MT, Bart (Tara) of Carlsbad, NM; and one daughter Kaleena (Tyler) Beck of Boise, ID; five grandchildren: Hayden, Xander and Presley Bluemer, Ashlynn and Brody Bluemer; her mother, Marlys Vaagen, Taylor ND; her brother, Garold (Patsy) Vaagen, Harwood ND; her sisters, Carol Gjermundson, Indio, CA and Peggy Vaagen, Mandan ND; and brother-in-law, Leon Marcusen, Taylor ND as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Merle Vaagen; her sisters, Loris Marcusen and Loretta Shipp; and one brother, Myles Vaagen; her mother-in-law Shirley Hietz.
