Rec District continues Railroad Park discussion

Friday, April 20, 2018

The Western Elmore County Recreation District held a special meeting on April 11 to discuss issues dealing with Railroad Park and the lease of the Minor League Ball Field at East Side Park.

The Board of Directors has made it clear they want to sell the park and recoup the money from the building fund that was lost in the purchase.

They have stated their interest to both the city of Mountain Home and the Urban Renewal Agency, who showed an interest in purchasing the park from Union Pacific last year.

As of now nothing in the way of a sale agreement or a lease with the city has come to fruition, and with warmer weather the directors are having to deal with the maintenance of the park and organizations wanting to use it for events.
