Crossed one off my bucket list:I just flew on a "Flying Fortress" for the first time in my life

A B17, aka the "Flying Fortress is in Idaho for a limited time.

There are moments throughout all of our lives that we will never forget. There are the big milestone events we are all expected to experience at some point such as one’s first kiss, graduation day, your wedding day and the day your kids were born.

Then there are those memories that are customized just for you. The time something happened that burned such a lasting impression that you knew you will be able to close your eyes and describe every moment of it like it was yesterday for the rest of your life.

April 16, 2018 is one of those days for me. While on assignment for the Mountain Home News I had a life experience that will go down as one of the absolute coolest days of my life. For the full story, pick up a copy of the Mountain Home News or click on this link to subscribe to the newspaper's online edition.

The "Madras Maiden" was built late in the war and did not see combat in WWII.

Even though I've had the great fortune to have ridden in an F-111 during my military career, I must admit that I'm quite envious of your ride in a B-17 Flying Fortress! Good job!

I've been fortunate lately to have the opportunity to write quite a bit on the B-17 and it was an amazing experience to get to ride on one, definitely something I will never forget! Im glad you enjoyed reading the story.
