1932 – 2017

Weda Nell “Toot” Dooley was born to Edgar and Beulah Johnson in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma on Feb. 28, 1932.

She grew up helping on the family farm and reading every book she could get her hands on. In 1949, she left Fort Cobb to attend college in Wichita Falls, TX, where she then met James “Jack” Dooley at a dance.

It was love at first sight, and they were married just a few weeks later on June 3, 1950, just before Jack shipped out with the Air Force.

Jack and Weda's marriage saw them through 30 years of military life, raising their three sons, 15 years with the forest service, and retirement in Mountain Home, ID dedicated to traveling, their beautiful garden, and their family.

Weda volunteered her whole life, including 10 years at the base pharmacy in Mountain Home and 14 years delivering meals for Meals on Wheels with the Mountain Home Senior Center. She was known for her homemade cookies and sharing tomatoes from her garden.

Weda is survived by her brother Clayton and sons David and Dennis, as well as several daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack and son Dick.

There will be a memorial service held at Bella Vida Funeral Home in Garden City, ID on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America or the American Red Cross.
