Mathew Lee Garlock, 63, of Mountain Home, passed away quietly at his home on Sept. 14, 2017. No services will be held per his request, however, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.

Mathew Lee Garlock was born on Feb. 22, 1954 to Jerald Albert Garlock and Jessie Ella Stearns-Garlock, in Boise, ID. The fourth of five children, he grew up in Boise, ID around Camels Back Park.

In 1971, Mathew married Eddie Rae Barrett. They later divorced. Mathew joined the army in 1974, during Vietnam, where he ran heavy equipment.

June 24, 1988 in Mtn. Home, Mathew married Helen A. Haas.

He loved nature, Sunday drives and fishing and hiking the mountains with his family. He was a mechanic by trade.

He knew the meaning of hard work and family always came first. He passed that love of hard work and sacrifice down to his children. Mathew was selfless and caring beyond words.

Mathew is preceded in death by his mother Jessie Ella Dawson in 1988 and his daughter Sara Lee Garlock in 2010.

He is survived by his father Jerald Garlock of Idaho, wife Helen Garlock of Mtn. Home, children Amie Tezlaff of Oregon, Beth Brenner, Jessie Roemer and Andrea Garlock all of Washington, Mark Mansfield and Amanda Garlock both of Idaho, Elizabeth Sweet of Ohio, Justin Garlock of Idaho and Jerramie Garlock of Californin, 21 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren and his siblings Mark T. Garlock of Idaho, Lawrence J. Garlock , Susan L. Monger, & Pricilla A. Flores all of Oregon.
