City council board changes

A member of the Mountain Home City Council officially stepped down with another joining the board as city officials met June 10.

Recently, Councilman Geoff Schroeder announced his plans to resign from the board to take advantage of an opportunity to get his law license early to advance his education and career.

After Schroeder officially stepped down, the council welcomed Fred Perez as its newest member. Schroeder had recommended Perez to succeed him in a letter submitted to Mayor Rich Sykes. Perez was sworn in by taking the oath of office, which allows him to serve out Schroeder's remaining term.
