Margaret Skeen

Margaret Elizabeth Rose Skeen, 83, of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on the afternoon of July 6, 2017, at a local care center. No services will be held per Margaret’s request. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mtn Home.

Margaret was born Aug. 1, 1933, to Fred and Florence (Grifith) Barns in South Wales, England, where she grew up and had two children, Michelle and David. A few years later, Margaret met and married Erwin Skeen.

In 1959, she and Erwin came to the United States and eventually settled in Mountain Home where they raised two daughters, Dale and Joanna.

Through 59 years of marriage, Margaret and Erwin enjoyed traveling. Margaret was an excellent baker and liked doing various crafts.

She also enjoyed her seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Miranda, Andrea, Bryan, Gregory, Hannah and Emma; and five living in England.

Margaret will be greatly missed for her since of humor and her love of telling stories from long ago.

Margaret in survived by her husband of 59 years, Erwin Skeen; two children in England; two daughters, Dale Walsh of Mountain Home and Joanna Reed of Boise; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Margaret is preceded in death by both her parents and her sister, Kathleen.
