Helping to save the kitchen

Volunteers from Mountain Home and Mountain Home Air Force Base join forces to wash cars at the local Les Schwab tire center as they help raise funds to benefit the Mountain Home Senior Center during a benefit June 17. Proceeds from the event benefitted the senior center's "Save the Kitchen" campaign, which seeks to replace the 40 year old equipment used to cook meals for the center's congregate and meals on wheels programs. Led by board member Delcine Johnson, the event brought together volunteers like Senior Airman Shykeria Anderson, who organized a team from the local Air Force base after she learned of the senior center's needs. She brought with her Airman 1st Class Kevin Joseph, Airman 1st Class Alanna Young, Airman 1st Class Jabreanna Fontenot and Senior Airman Ebony Hamilton. "My friends told me about it and I thought it would be good for the community," Joseph said.
