Fires destroy Mountain Home, Hammett homes

Two local area families are continuing to assess the damage after fires swept through their homes over the weekend.

The first fire was reported around 8:15 p.m. on Friday with members of the King Hill Rural Fire District responding to a residential fire on Flock Road in Hammett.

The home was fully engulfed by the time the team of six firefighters and three engines arrived on scene. The firefighters remained on scene for approximately four hours as they mopped up after containing the flames.
