Mountain Home Air Force Base continues to receive broad support from senior Air Force commanders, who advocate ongoing efforts to expand the installation's combat capabilities, local officials said following a series of meetings with these military leaders.

A delegation representing the Mountain Home Military Affairs Committee met with Air Force leaders in Virginia and Washington, D.C., last month as part of a yearly visit to discuss various issues and concerns affecting the local Air Force base. This year's delegation included Billy Richey, Idaho's special assistant for military affairs, MAC president Robby Robinson and city public works director Richard Urquidi.

For more than 30 years, the local military support organization has sent delegations to the east coast to meet with these military officials. They time these visits so they arrive there while Congress is in session, which allows these Mountain Home representatives to meet with Idaho's legislative leaders on Capitol Hill.
