Come on up and enjoy Pine

Wednesday, June 7, 2017

Dear editor,

Just thought I'd let people know that Pine is not closed. After the news reports from the sheriff's department and the Mountain Home Ranger District, everyone must have thought we were inaccessible.

True, there has been flooding, and Elks Flat campground is closed. But Anderson Reservoir is full (bass fishing must be good), and camping is available around the shoreline.

So, if we can get the Forest Service to open Elks Flat Campground, put the docks back in at Curlew boat ramp and open up the roads, most things will be back to normal. Our hearts go out to those people whose cabins were so impacted by the changes in the river channels.

So come on up and support the businesses in our valley and enjoy our beautiful mountains.

— Sue Fish, Pine
