Picnic in the Park

Elijah Nixon hands out lunches to Kyler Lavallee and Hawk Lohmeier as children and their parents gathered at Carl Miller Park during the "Picnic in the Park" lunch program on Friday. Children from the Mountain Home community gather at the local park as well as Skyview Terrace Apartments each day to enjoy a free lunch hosted by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. A similar program is offered Monday to Thursday at the city park in Glenns Ferry, which offers children breakfast as well as lunch.

Jorgia Tinsman and Nevaeh Guest play catch using Velcro-covered mitts as they enjoy the afternoon at Skyview Terrace Apartments. Summer meal program officials have a bin of toys at apartment complex for children to enjoy following lunch with a bouncy house set up in Carl Miller Park.
