City council gives road construction project 'green light'

A roadway construction project gained the green light after the city council voted in favor of the plan during a brief meeting held May 8 in the council chambers.

The council approved a request by the city street department to reconstruct the intersection of North 3rd East Street and Tanager Street.

Ytuarte Concrete and Construction submitted the winning bid for the $4,350 project, which was one of several items the council approved on the evening's consent agenda. Councilman Jimmy Schipani lead the meeting in place of Mayor Rich Sykes, who was out of town on vacation with his family.
