Historic steam engine rolls through local area

Union Pacific's "Living Legend" steam locomotive cruises through Mountain Home as it continued on its return trek to Wyoming on Monday.

A piece of history rolled through Mountain Home and Glenns Ferry in recent days as a vintage steam engine crossed southern Idaho.

Union Pacific's "Living Legend" Number 844 steam locomotive and tender is traveling more than 1,600 miles during a round trip run to Boise to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the historic Boise Depot and attend other events in communities across Idaho and Utah.
