Local forest roads closed due to restoration efforts

The Elk Complex fire destroyed thousands of acres of range land in the mountains in northern Elmore County.

As part of an ongoing effort to restore forest land damaged during the 2013 Elk Complex fires, the Mountain Home Ranger District will temporarily close National Forest System roads northeast of Mountain Home.

The closures will allow crews to plow these roads and prepare areas for spring planting of various conifer species, primarily ponderosa pine.
