Tigers excel at Bonneville

The Mountain Home Tigers wrestling team finished the year on a positive note following a strong finish at the Bonneville Duals tournament, which wrapped up Dec. 17.

The high school team finished second out of 18 schools.

During the two-day event, Pierce Mederios and Jonathan Kaiser posted 9-0 records to finish the tournament undefeated in their respective weight classes.

Those going 8-1 at the tournament were Dustin Farnworth, Hunter McCluskey and Kanoa Doronio. Tigers that posted 7-2 records were Gage Wilson, Jayden Sexton and Tim Goodell.

Meanwhile, Zach Slack, Dillon Park and Alex Castro came away with 6-3 records. Hayden Keierleber went 4-5 while Anthony Humphus and Tyler Hardin were 3-6.

The Tigers returned to action following the holiday break on Tuesday, where they headed to Buhl for a tri-meet versus Buhl and Twin Falls and return to Buhl for a second tournament Friday and Saturday. Their first home wrestling tournament is scheduled for Jan. 11 as they face Emmett High School.
