Local band students named to state, regional groups

Director Jerry Tippets leads Mountain Home Junior High School's seventh and eighth grade combined band as they perform "Celtic Christmas" during a concert Thursday in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium. Students representing ensembles at the high school and junior high school performed a number of holiday classics during the evening.

Mountain Home High School and Mountain Home Junior High School will perform with students representing schools from across southwestern Idaho following their selection to join two regional-level concert bands.

Five junior high students will join the Southwest Idaho Middle School Honor Band with four high school band students chosen for the Boise State University Honor Band.
