Annabell Cullen Hughes, age 86, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at St. Luke's Elmore Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Annabell was born and raised in Trenton, N.J., a first-generation American and very proud of it. In 1960, Annabell moved to Mountain Home and met her love, Albert "Pinky" Hughes, and she took his hand in marriage in 1962.

She worked various jobs, from running their own business, the Thunder Bird Courtel in Mountain Home, to working at different schools in the Treasure Valley. During the summers, she worked at Cheley Colorado Camps, loving every minute with her friends and co-workers and taking her grandchildren along with her.

Annabell enjoyed many different things but most of all gardening, knitting, cooking, bingo and traveling. She was always very involved with her church and the Moose Lodge in Boise.

She is survived by her son, James "Jim" Hughes; daughter Rebecca "Katie" Hughes; daughter in-law Susan "Sue" Stenlund; sisters Reba Buchan and Jeanie Barto; her amazing grandson, Jessie Hughes; her wonderful granddaughters and their loved ones, Amanda and Brian Fletcher, Sarah and Jeremy Malone, Lydia Hughes and Jimmy Martinez, Samantha Hughes; her awesome great-grandchildren, Garrett, Austin, Aidyn and Mclaren Malone, Gabriel, Nickolas and Aubree Hughes; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her love, Albert "Pinky" Hughes, and her parents, William "Bill" and Barbara Cullen.

In lieu of flowers, we ask for live plants or memorial keepsakes that can be saved and given to her grandkids.
