Eli E. Macom, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away quietly at the age of 77, on Nov. 14, 2016, in his home, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home. Inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.

Eli was born Sept. 28, 1939, to Clarence and Pansy Macom in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He moved to Brockton, Mass., after the death of his father. There, he met the love of his life, Louise M. Benoit, in 1957.

He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960. On April 22, 1962, Eli married Louise, in which they celebrated 54 years of marriage this year. Together, they raised three children all over the world.

Eli served with honor from 1960 to 1986 in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.

Eli is survived by his wife, Louise; his children, Kerrie-Lynn and her husband Wade Raines, Ronald J. and his wife, Susan Macom, and Thomas E. and his wife Linda Macom; his brother, Earl Macom; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Verla Parker, and his brother, John Macom.
