Art on display

Kuna artist Kay Coughran shows off the hand-painted gourds she had available for sale during the day.

Linda Kirkendall adjusts one of her oil paintings as the local artist participates in the Mountain Home Arts Council's 11th Annual Art at the Inn, held Saturday at the Hampton Inn and Suites. A dozen artists from Mountain Home and surrounding communities showcased their own unique art styles during this year's presentation.

Alana Bailey admires the scenic art pieces created by Stephen Murphy. A self-taught artist, Murphy uses a mix of acrylic paint and ink in his creations.

An assortment of hand-painted seats and benches were sold during a silent auction that day as part of the local visual arts guild's "Out of the Box" scholarship program. Proceeds from these sales benefit the guild's annual scholarship program for local graduates.
